I went on a first date with a guy (33M) who lives in the inner city, while I’m in the suburbs — about a 45 min drive for me (which he knows). Our first date was in the city.
We’re planning a second date and the restaurant has two locations. I suggested the one slightly closer to me (~40 mins), but he pushed back and preferred either the further one (~50 mins) or another option that was also closer to him.
For context, this is making me think he might not drive (he’s an international student), but he hasn’t said that, so I could be wrong.
He seems like a nice guy, but this is starting to bother me. I don’t expect everything to be 50/50, but I do care about some effort to meet halfway — especially this early on.
Am I overthinking this, or is this a sign of incompatibility?
